AFRODITA

AFRODITA

Classic tiled stove with compact design that is among our traditional models.

The most popular colors are brown, green, and light and dark Holland with a chapel motif on the tiles and rounded tile legs.

An endless variety of colors and tile designs can be produced. Other possible atypical elements include square legs, a tile base without legs, tiles added above the firebox etc. In well insulated buildings it may also be desirable to equip the stove with an external air intake. And of course you can choose whether the stovepipe will vent from above or behind.

All variations of the AFRODITA feature an E1 stove insert with regulated heat output of 5–11 kW. With a ceiling height of 2.5 m for example, this is sufficient to heat roughly 100 m² of floor space – i.e. most standard homes as well as larger social spaces, restaurants, clubhouses, pensions etc. Of course, if the space is broken up into several separate enclosed rooms, one might consider getting a stove with a water heat exchanger. Models with a heat exchanger capture 8 kW out of a total of 11 kW in the form of hot water that is used in a water heating system that can easily heat separate and distant rooms. The 3 kW that is radiated into the room where the stove is installed will heat roughly 60 m³ (or approx. 24 m² with 2.5 meter ceilings). Using and connecting a stove with a water heat exchanger offers greater comfort and long-term savings on heating costs. However, the investment in installation is higher and the installation itself is technically more demanding. This makes more sense for permanent residences than weekend cottages etc. Circulation pumps require electricity, and possibly a back-up power source in the event of power outages, or water intake and outlet using a cooling loop. It is possible (but again more expensive) to send heated water to an accumulation tank instead of directly to the heating system. This is a very efficient use of the heat produced by the stove that provides hot water for utility use.

As with other stoves, the recommended fuel is dry hardwood or quality wood briquettes. Wood should not have a moisture content greater than 20%, which corresponds to roughly 2 years of storage.

When installing all classic and hot water stoves, professional installation and connection is required as well as compliance with all regulations and fire safety standards, including placing that stove at least 20 cm away from walls (and twice that distance from combustible materials), placing the stove on a fireproof base (extending at least 300 mm in front of the door and ashpan and 100 mm in other directions), with proper chimney dimensions and flue pipe at least 150 mm in diameter with effective height of at least 5 meters. The connection of the stove to a hot water system is performed by a professional heating company. The cost of these services is not included in the price, but all arrangements can be made when buying the stove.
